Membership of the Trust is open to
all residents of Stratford-upon-Avon (within the town's
defined boundaries) and whose names appear on the electoral
roll.
Being a member gives you the chance to help choose who
runs the Trust and to let the trustees know where you
think the money should best be spent.
In particular members are entitled to:
- Nominate and elect five trustees (usually every
four years)
- Be kept informed of Trust activities and grants
- Attend and vote at the Annual General Meeting
As a member you will receive:
- A membership number
- A Newsletter twice a year which gives information
about recent grants, events and policy decisions
- The Annual Review giving an overview of the Trust’s
activities over the last financial year together with
some statutory financial information
- Invitations to attend other events which may be
organised by the Trust to keep members updated about
the Trust’s work.
In return
as a member only two things are asked of you: to take
an interest in the affairs of the Trust, by attending
the AGM for example; and, in the unlikely event that
the Trust had to be wound up, you may be called upon
to pay £1.00.
You might also consider becoming a trustee yourself.
Elections are usually held every four years and local
knowledge and expertise are essential if the Trust is
to be really effective. Before the election all members
will be sent a nomination form which you should complete
if you wish to stand for election yourself or to nominate
another member. Please note that only members may serve
as trustees.
