4 May 2017
THERE’S one unmistakable sound of summer in Stratford – music trumpeting from the Bandstand.
On weekends throughout May, June, July and August, everyone is treated to a live musical backdrop as they picnic, play, stroll with the dog, or mess about on the river.
The Bandstand is owned by Stratford Town Trust with the Trust awarding a grant each year to enable these performances to take place. They are entirely free to enjoy.
The 2017 programme gets underway on Sunday May 28th when the Central England Concert Band heralds the new season.
They are followed on Sunday June 4th by the Arrow Valley Brass Band, while on Sunday June 11th everyone’s invited to pack a picnic to enjoy not one, but two performances. First up at 12pm will be a lunchtime concert given by the Stratford-upon-Avon Concert Band, followed at 2.30pm by an afternoon concert courtesy of Shipston Town Band.
Concerts are weather permitting. They usually take place between 2.30pm and 4.30pm on Sundays throughout the summer months.Back to News
