Quentin Willson, Chairman
Quentin is an elected Trustee. He is a motoring journalist, transport campaigner and media specialist. He is a Partner in Fair Fuel UK and led a successful lobbying campaign saving UK drivers £100b in fuel duties. Quentin has presented Top Gear, Fifth Gear, The Car's The Star and The Classic Car Show; writes for many magazines and newspapers; and is a regular campaigning voice on TV and radio. He and his family have lived in Stratford for 20 years.
Tony Jackson, Deputy Chairman
Tony Jackson is a nominated Trustee. Being elected to the Town Council in 2015 provided the opportunity to put himself forward to serve as a Trustee with the Town Trust. His interest in the Trust first came about during the £1m Community Challenge in 2013. He has lived in the area for over 35 years, working at NFU Mutual. Tony met his wife there and they have two adult children. He is Club Secretary of Stratford Athlectics Club and a competitive runner and qualified official.
An elected Trustee, Ian has lived in Stratford for 28 years. Educated in Weybridge, at RAE, Farnborough (incl 3 years in Territorial Army), and an MSc from Cranfield University, specialising in Ergonomics and System Design. Now retired, his career as a Human Factors Engineer and Project Manager has been with EMI, GEC, BRB (rail), IBM and MoD (Navy, DERA and QinetiQ), involving committee experience with ECMA (European Computer Manufacturers’ Association), ISO (International Standards Organization) and Baldridge Organisation Quality Assessment.
Tim Bailey was elected Trustee in 2018. Tim has lived in Stratford for 50 years, working as a Police Officer for 30 years and currently as Assistant Head of Sixth Form at King Edward VI School. He is married with two sons and is involved in several community groups including Friends of Rowley Fields. Previously Tim has chaired his local Scout Group, was a Governor at Stratford upon Avon School for 7 years and attends St James Church, Alveston. He joined the Trust to help serve the local community and ensure the Trust's assets are used to their best effect.
Charles is a nominated Trustee. He is a Stratfordian, born and educated in the town. His working life started at Ball Brothers foundry in Arden Street, and later moved to Peugeot where he progressed to management positions. Charles is now retired. He is, or has been, actively involved in several local organisations including Christmas Lights, Municipal Charities and Bishopton Community Centre.
Tessa is a nominated Trustee. Her position as Town Councillor has given her enormous experience in the local community solving problems and helping people. She has lived in Stratford almost all her life, was educated here and worked locally too. She has two children and was or is actively involved in several local organisations including Stratford in Bloom, Municipal Charities and the local netball league.
Elected in May 2018, Lindsay is seeking to sustain the traditional values of the town and to minimise the adverse impacts of new development. Degrees: B.Sc., B.Eng., Ph.D. in science and engineering; Professor of Digital Media for 20 years at four UK universities, with focus on cultural heritage. Has experience as a Parish Councillor and Governor of junior/secondary schools and university. Lindsay has lived in Shottery with his wife since 2016. He is a member of the PCC at Holy Trinity Church and also a committee member of Stratford Society.
Matthew is a co-opted trustee with a particular interest in how the Trust's portfolio can be managed to directly benefit the residents of the town, as well as by using its income to make grants. He is a solicitor with over 12 years' experience in commercial real estate investment and development. Matthew has lived in Stratford with his family for more than five years and has two young children who attend a local primary school.
Stephen Parker is a co-opted Trustee. He is currently a Pro-Chancellor of Coventry University having served as Chair of the Board of Governors from 2015-18. He is also a Non-Executive Director of TRL Ltd, a Non-Executive Director of YASA Ltd and a Non-Executive Director and Senior Advisor to FEV Group GmbH. Stephen during his career has held a number of senior executive positions in large international companies. He was born and has spent most of his life in South Warwickshire and his family are deeply rooted in the area. He has lived in Stratford upon Avon for the past 21 years.
Clive was co-opted to the Board in January 2015 and has recently been appointed for a further four year term. His background as a chartered accountant fitted the Trust's requirements and with his wealth of experience now chairs the Finance Investment & Property Committee. His family has lived in the Stratford area since 1992 and he and his wife moved to Old Town in 2012. He is a patron of the RSC.
David was elected as Trustee in 2018. He has a great affection for Stratford-upon-Avon and wishes to see the town, its people and organisations prosper into the future. He wishes to offer his skills as a registered Architect in helping to ensure the Trust's resources are used to full effect to support worthy causes. He has worked and lived in Stratford for over 30 years and has family living in the town. His interests include the built environment and historic buildings, playing golf, and he is a member of the Rotary Club.
