WE ARE looking for a trustee from our membership to help us to deliver our vision of creating a vibrant and connected community. Findings from our recent survey told us that we have an important role to play in the town and revealed the issues that matter most to our community.
Stratford Town Trust is run by a small team of dedicated staff governed by eleven trustees, all of whom must be members of the Trust. They comprise five trustees elected by the membership; three trustees nominated by Stratford Town Council; and three trustees co-opted to join the board to provide additional specific skills.
Our trustees play a central role in supporting the Town Trust team and ensuring that we operate to the highest standards of charity governance.

The last few months have really shown the value of a strong and connected community. We were proud to launch the Stratford Support initiative with colleagues at the Town Council that saw 350 people come forward to volunteer their time to help others. And, you will be joining the Board at an exciting time as Stratford Town Trust is changing the way it thinks; how it connects with the community; and how it can make the biggest impact from its valuable assets. In December we will launch our Strategic Plan 2021 – 2025 which will set out our ambitions for the next five years. Being a trustee is rewarding – you will be able share your skills and make a positive contribution; you will be at the heart of a historic charity that typically distributes almost £2m each year to charities and good causes; and you will guide the organisation as part of a team who are passionate about their local community.
Anyone over the age of 18 years living within Stratford upon Avon can be a member. So, if you know anyone who cares about their community and would be interested in becoming a trustee, please encourage them to join us.
If you are interested and would like to be considered, please send us a brief written statement by 6th September 2020, explaining why you would like to be a trustee of Stratford Town Trust and what you will bring to the charity. Applicants will be invited to an informal and socially distanced meeting with a group of trustees and the CEO during week commencing 21st or 28th September 2020.
