14th October 2025, 6.30pm. FREE talk at Stratford’s historic Guild Chapel about how the story of Noah and the flood is foretold in the Chapel's medieval wall paintings.
A fascinating free talk about the Life of Adam cycle of paintings in Stratford’s medieval Guild Chapel, and how it foretells the story of Noah and the flood.
During the talk, in the very building where the paintings were created over 500 years ago, we will take a close look at the Life of Adam painting and the story it tells, and touch briefly on the origins of the flood story. We will look at what still survives on the walls to discover the meaning of this rare painting and how it fits into the Chapel’s internationally important painting scheme.
The talk will reveal rarely seen images of the painting and is part of an exciting programme of events Stratford Town Trust are offering in the run up to their new community play Norah's Ark. For more information, see below. Book your place at https://signup.com/go/UGBCvyj
